Although the story is finished, we should see that, through the previous story, we will find that the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area is so important. What did he tell us? It tells us that the history of human development is from economic development to river economy. For example, when I was in Xinjiang, I saw an oasis in front of me, that is, water and people, then gradually develop rivers, Qiantang River, Grand Canal, and then develop roads and bridges. China is unparalleled in this respect. And what era is it now? It is the era of marine economy, the essence and characteristics of the era of marine economy. Remember, it is the bay area economy. The Bay Area Economy is the cradle of the three industrial revolutions.
The first Industrial Revolution originated in the central part of England, and soon spread to London, forming the economy of the Bay Area of London as we know it today. In the mid-nineteenth century, the second industrial revolution represented by Edisons lamp was followed by the spread of New York, New Jersey and California from east to west, forming the known Bay Area of New York. In the third industrial revolution represented by atomic energy and computer technology, San Franciscos Bay Area economy took the lead. Stanford and the University of California set off a global wave of information technology on the West Coast, spawning well-known enterprises such as Cisco, Intel and Apple. At present, the big bay area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau is Chinas main body of economic globalization. It is the most densely populated area in China. It has the strongest innovation capability and the most comprehensive strength. It is also the base for national scientific and technological innovation and technological research and development. It is also an important combination point of Chinas reform and opening up and one belt and one road.
At the junction of the Maritime Silk Road and our Silk Road economy, I have been thinking about a question. So many people and so many experts, scholars, think tanks, governments, youth, journalists and media pay attention to the Great Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. What identity do we appear in this area? Modern history tells us that five hundred years have passed since the sixteenth century. Three major scientific and technological revolutions and three technological revolutions have taken place in the world. In these five hundred years, the World Science and Technology Center has been transferred from Italy, Britain, Germany, France and the United States. We worked out the details and transferred them once in about 100 years. In the forties of the last century, the United States became the center. So far, it has been 80 years. The next world science and technology center should be transferred to a new country, China.
So today we are meeting at the Zhongxin Guangzhou Knowledge City in Huangpu, a bilateral project of cooperation between China and Singapore in the new century. This project will take the knowledge economy as the innovation mode, the knowledge-intensive service industry as the leading factor, and the high value-added manufacturing industry as the support. It is not only a model for the economic transformation of the province, but also a platform for the scientific and technological strategy of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. This platform, I think, will become the most dynamic innovation benchmark in the whole Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Great Bay Area in the future.
Last time Wang Shi held a meeting in Shenzhen, the former Vice President of the United States was shocked. He saw 1500 people under 30 training, not to mention the enthusiasm of young people under 30. So I see today Comrade Wang Shi, including the United Nations, Israel and many other countries, supporting innovation. I believe that China will become a new center of science and technology in the world in the next ten years.
Finally, lets open our hands to welcome the new transfer of the Global Science and Technology Center and wish this Gulf Youth Innovation Forum a complete success. Thank you.
