Netease Entertainment reported on October 11 that well-known director Jia Zhangke officially announced in the opening ceremony of the third Pingyao International Film that his new film Literature of a Village was officially renamed Swimming till the sea turns blue, and the films forerunners announcement was also made public for the first time. In the preamble, Jia Pingwa, Yu Hua and Liang Hong, three narrators, combined their own experiences with literary works, emotionally expounded the memory of the times, and uncovered the mysterious veil of this highly anticipated film.
The forerunner of the film Swimming till the sea turns blue predicts that the new Pingyao expectation link added to the Pingyao International Film Exhibition will be officially opened for the first time. The selected films represent the new ideas of the worlds movies at the present stage, and also the expectations of the filmmakers for the future. Other films are Not Romantic (directed by Cheng Er), Not Endless (directed by Wang Jing), Memory (directed by Abichaban Velashagu) and White Mansion (directed by Kavich Neang).
With Jia Pingwa, Yu Hua and Liang Hong, three writers born in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, the film Swimming to the Sea Turning Blue symphonically writes a 70-year-long history of Chinese soul. In the forerunners trailer, Jia Pingwa said, Stand in Shangluo, or at home, see China, see the whole world. The profound reflection of the film on the local people is vivid. Yu Hua and Liang Hong also recall the creative process and show their deep concern for the society and the times.
Swimming till the sea turns blue is directed by Yu Liwei, directed by Zhang Yang and directed by Kong Jinlei. The film will also be Jia Zhangkes first global premiere in China, and is expected to be released in the year.
