[The Asian Cup bid cities in 2023 were confirmed at the end of October
From September 2 to 11, 2019, the Asian Football Association and the Office of Preparatory Work for the 2023 Asian Cup organized a delegation to visit 18 bidding cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Dalian.
Under the guidance of the Asian Football Federation, four main indicators, namely professional venue construction, youth training promotion, football development indicators and comprehensive strength of the city, are taken as the core evaluation criteria for city selection. Among them, professional venue construction and youth training development promotion are the promising indicators for the bid city. Professional Stadium Construction clearly requires the bidding city to have a professional football match venue before the end of 2022; Youth Training Development Promotion requires the bidding city to establish a football youth training center in accordance with the standards of the Chinese Football Association by the end of 2021, to train a group of young football coaches with new support certificates for four consecutive years, to support and guide the society. Football youth training institutions have developed and established a youth football competition system covering the whole city.
The visit impressed the representatives of the Asian Football Association. Abazbeck Berdykulov, Vice Minister of Competition and Activities of the Asian Football Association, said: This visit has left me good memories and great achievements in Chinas development. In recent years, the development of Chinese football has also made great progress. The development of football ground infrastructure, juvenile football and social football in various cities is gratifying. We have every reason to believe that China has the ability to host an extraordinary Asian Cup.
According to the work plan, the Asian Football Association and the Asian Cup Preparatory Working Group plan to determine the host city of the Asian Cup by the end of October.
