Some journalists asked questions. It was reported that some members of the U.S. Congress announced on October 10 that they would submit a bill to suspend the sale of crowd control and other law enforcement equipment to Hong Kong. If passed, the bill would prohibit American companies from exporting tear gas, chili water, rubber bullets and other non-lethal technologies to Hong Kong. What is Chinas comment on this?
Do these members of the U.S. Congress want to keep these riot equipment for their own use in the United States? Hua Chunying asked.
Hua Chunying said that the right and wrong of recent events in Hong Kong are clear. More and more mainstream international media have reported the real situation of Hong Kong through field interviews. Hua Chunying, for example, used several high-definition photographs by the Russian Communist Youth League Truth News to show the demonstratorsweapons, such as umbrellas with knives and incendiary bombs. It is reported that some people commit terrorist crimes in the name of liberty and democracy, and that behind-the-scenes gangsters are the root cause of the riots in Hong Kong.
I would like to ask those members of Parliament of the United States where the rule of law you advocate when extreme violence brutally attacks and injures Hong Kong police, paralyses airports, subway and other public transport facilities? When thousands of Hong Kong police officers and their families are illegally exposed to personal information, subjected to frantic cyber bullying and intimidation Where are the human rights you advocate? Where is the freedom you preach when people who disagree are chasing, beaten and besieged by masked black men, subject to personal restrictions and injuries?
Hua Chunying said that on the one hand, individual U.S. lawmakers glorified violent crimes as a struggle for human rights and freedom, on the other hand, they stigmatized Hong Kong police for excessive use of violence by tolerating humiliation and restraining law enforcement. This is the greatest blasphemy against freedom, democracy and human rights. It is a blatant contempt for Hong Kongs mainstream public opinion of stopping riots and restoring order. It also exposes their extreme hypocrisy and naked double standards.
How did the U.S. government and police treat the demonstrators? Hua Chunying said many people still remember the images of the Occupy Wall Street Movement in 2011, the Baltimore riots in Maryland in 2015 and the recent demonstrations in Portland. If what happens in Hong Kong in the future happens in the United States, and those images in Hong Kong are shown in the United States, will these members of the United States be so kind? Lets wait and see.
Hua Chunying stressed that Hong Kongs affairs are Chinas internal affairs and should not be interfered by foreign governments, organizations and individuals. Anyone who tries to play with fire on Hong Kong-related issues will eventually burn himself up, play with fire and eat bitter fruit. We advise some people on the US side to stop pretending to sleep or committing muddy acts, immediately stop condoning violent crimes, and immediately stop interfering in Hong Kongs affairs.
