Heavy rain continued in Qixingguan District of Bijie City from 7 to 8 September. Because of the heavy rainfall, a large amount of water accumulated in many low-lying areas. Today, the Beijing News reporter learned from the fire rescue detachment of Bijie City that on the morning of September 8, the Yixinyuan Nursing Home in Bijie City was in danger of being affected by the rainstorm, flooding the way in and out of the nursing home, and entering the first floor of the nursing home with waist-deep water.

According to the person in charge of the nursing home, there are 27 elderly people in the hospital, most of whom are inconvenient to move. Six of them are in poor health and need continuous oxygen inhalation. The situation is very critical. After the firefighters learned about the situation, the first group entered the nursing home to find out the specific situation, the second group assembled rubber boats into the scene, and the third group was responsible for the peripheral response. The first group of firefighters used stretchers to quickly transfer two seriously injured elderly people to 120 ambulances. After the second group of firefighters entered the scene, the rest of the elderly were transferred.

Eventually, after five hours of efforts by firefighters, all 27 trapped elderly people were transferred to safety zones. At present, six elderly people in poor health have been sent to hospital for treatment, and the rest have been properly placed.
