Xinhua News Agency, Baghdad, September 8 (Reporter Zhang Zhao) The Iraqi military said on the 8th that the U.S. -led international coalition against the extremist organization Islamic State killed eight Islamic State militants in northern Nineveh Province on the same day.

In a statement issued by the Joint Iraqi Operations Command, according to information provided by the military in Nineveh Province, the League of Nations launched an air strike on an Islamic State armed stronghold about 20 kilometers south of the capital of Nineveh Province, Mosul, killing eight armed elements.

The Joint Operations Command also said that Iraqi security forces captured nine Islamic militants in Salahuddin Province on the same day, and intelligence showed that they planned to attack the provincial parliament building and security forces.

In December 2017, Iraq declared a historic victory against the Islamic State, but there are still some extremist remnants in Iraq waiting for an attack.
