Crayfish Industry Report: Last years total output value was 369 billion yuan, Hubeis output was the first.

Lobster take-out online share increased

The report shows that in 2018, the total output value of crayfish industry in China reached 369 billion yuan, an increase of 37.5% over the same period last year, creating the highest increase since 2003. Among them, the output value of the tertiary industry, mainly catering, is as high as 272.6 billion yuan. In the whole year, the total output of crayfish reached 1638.7 million tons and the total area of cultivation reached 16.8 million mu.

Meanwhile, the online and offline consumption channels of crayfish are expanding continuously. The number of offline stores has surged by more than 140,000, an increase of nearly 70%, and the market share of online takeout has increased significantly. According to the data, the order volume of crayfish takeout in 2018 is 2.6 times that in 2017, and the transaction volume is 4.3 times that in 2017. Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chengdu are the five cities with the largest consumption of crayfish takeout. According to Hungry Mohes word-of-mouth consumption data, Hebei, Hainan, Shanghai, Sichuan and Henan have become the five provinces with the fastest growth in consumption of crayfish at night.

According to incomplete statistics, in 2018, nearly 30 new policy supporting documents were issued in all parts of the country, such as guidance, industrial planning and so on, aiming at the crayfish industry or taking the crayfish industry as the main body.

On September 8, Cui He, president of China Aquatic Circulation and Processing Association, told the Beijing News that the paddy farming mode of crayfish can improve farmersenthusiasm for grain cultivation through the mutual promotion of shrimp and rice, which is conducive to agricultural development. At present, the paddy field culture of crayfish has accounted for 40% of the total area of rice and fishery in China, which is 30.42 million mu.

The production of crayfish in Hubei accounts for nearly half of the whole country.

In terms of export, according to the Manchu cargo data, in 2018, the five major provinces exporting crayfish in China were Hubei, Hunan, Anhui, Jiangxi and Jiangsu in turn, while in the top ten cities, Hubei occupied six seats.

In addition, due to the fact that crayfish shells contain food cellulose chitin, which is known as the sixth vital factor, and can be used in agriculture, medicine, health care, daily chemical industry and other fields after deep processing, Qianjiang in Hubei Province has built a deep processing industrial cluster of chitin. For example, in 2018, the leading chitin enterprise Huashan aquatic products treated 100,000 tons of abandoned shrimp shells, produced 4,000 tons of chitin, 3,500 tons of high-value-added products such as glucosamine hydrochloride, high-density chitosan and chitosan-oligosaccharide, and the sales revenue of chitin and derivatives was nearly 3 billion yuan.

Cui said that thanks to the main paddy farming mode of crayfish, Hubei has become one of the main forces of crayfish production by virtue of its vast paddy field planting area and the advantages of farmersself-raising seedlings.

The growth rate of crayfish industry will decline

The report also points out that, in the medium and long term, the crayfish industry in China will generally maintain a steady and progressive development trend, but the growth rate will decline, and the overall supply-demand relationship of the industry will gradually balance.
