Usually, this large-scale infrastructure at the national level uses its own intranet, and this employee fully carries forward the spirit of death and arbitrarily connects the nuclear power plant intranet to the Internet. Once hackers target and invade, the consequences are unimaginable.
Owing to the high potential risk, the case was investigated directly by the Ukrainian Special Service (SBU). It is reported that the employees behavior may have posed a threat to national security. Investigators are currently studying whether attackers have used the incident to hack into the network of nuclear power plants and gather information from their systems, such as confidential data about factories.
The incident occurred at a nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine near the city of Yuzhnoukrainsk in southern Ukraine. It is not clear how the employees mining activities were discovered, but as early as July 10, the SBU raided the nuclear power plant. According to court documents, employees of nuclear power plants mainly use video cards to mine, using AMDs Radeon RX470, with a total of 11 video cards.
