According to the official website of Maotai Group on August 23, 23, entrusted by the Southwest Regional Administration of Civil Aviation, the Maotai Airport Overall Planning Revision Review Conference organized by Beijing Aviation Construction and Research Corporation was held in Renhuai City. At the meeting, the expert review group and the delegates put forward valuable opinions on the prediction of the planning plan, terminal building, type II blind landing, runway configuration, airspace planning, ecological environmental protection measures, etc. The review group considered that the Maotai Airport Master Plan Revision meets the needs of future development and is comprehensive in content.

The report points out that the original 2014 edition of the airport master plan can no longer meet the development needs of Maotai Airport. It is necessary to re-examine the development orientation of Maotai Airport. From a new perspective, we can judge the development of air transport market in Zunyi District, and the role of Maotai Airport in serving Maotai brand in the era of 100 billion and promoting local socio-economic development. The airport has started the revision of the General Regulations. The overall plan aims to make Maotai Airport the first, first-class and world-renowned medium-sized commercial airport in Guizhou. The plan sets the short-term target for 2030 and the long-term target for 2050. According to the forecast of air traffic volume, the passenger throughput will reach 5 million passengers, 20,000 tons of cargo and postal throughput in the near future, 10 million passengers and 40,000 tons of cargo and postal throughput in the long-term 2050. Recent flight zone level is 4C, forward flight zone level is 4E, new 64,000 square meters of T2 terminal building, 56,000 square meters of parking building, 4400 square meters of freight station and related supporting facilities.

Maotai Airport is located in Yaoba Village, Maotai Town, Renhuai City, 16 kilometers away from Renhuai City. According to 4C standard design and construction, runway length is 2600 meters, platform space is 4; terminal building is 15000 square meters; supporting construction of communication, navigation, meteorology, water supply, power supply, oil supply, fire rescue and other auxiliary production facilities. The estimated investment budget of the project is 2.437 billion yuan. The project was launched in January 2013, and started construction formally in March 2015. It passed industry acceptance in September 2017 and was opened to navigation in October. According to the official website of Maotai Airport in August, during the summer transportation period, Maotai Airport encrypted Guiyang, Ningbo and other citiesflights. During the peak summer transportation season, the average daily passenger flow of the airport reached 6,000 people, which increased by more than 1700 people compared with last years average daily passenger flow. On August 10, 6302 passengers were guaranteed at the airport, setting a new high for one-day passenger protection at Maotai Airport. By 20:30 p.m. on August 21, Maotai Airport had delivered 10,000,106 passengers, an increase of 60% over the previous year; 549.214 tons of cargo and mail were transported, and the target of 500 tons of cargo and mail for 2019 was achieved 130 days in advance; 10448 sorties of takeoff and landing aircraft, an increase of 56% over the previous year.
