After Wal-Mart, Amazon also called Teslas solar panels caused warehouse fires.

More widely known, Tesla bought Solar City, a solar panel installer, for $2 billion three years ago. SolarCitys then chief executive was the cousin of Elon Musk, Teslas chief executive.

Wal-Mart said in its lawsuit filed on Tuesday that it had previously leased or authorized the roof space of more than 240 stores to Teslas energy sector. Two of the fires in its stores occurred in May 2018. Amazon said it had very few solar systems installed in Tesla.

Tesla did not immediately respond to requests for comment, but earlier Friday it said it had found a defect in a component used in part of the companys solar system. Tesla pointed out in an e-mail statement that Amphenols connectors led to more frequent system failures and disconnections than our standards. The company has begun to replace this part.

Afeno did not respond to requests for comment. (Lebanon)
