Xinhua News Agency, Shenzhen, August 19 (Reporter Bai Yu) Huawei issued a media statement on the evening of the 19th, saying it opposed the U.S. Department of Commerces inclusion of 46 other Huawei entities in the entity list, calling on the U.S. government to stop the unfair treatment of Huawei and remove Huawei from the entity list.
On the evening of August 19, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced that it would extend Huaweis temporary procurement license for 90 days, and decided to add 46 Huawei affiliates to the entity list. In response to this statement, Huawei issued a media statement saying, Huawei opposes the US Department of Commerces inclusion of 46 other Huawei entities in the list of entities. By choosing to make this decision at this time point, the United States proves once again that the decision is politically driven and has nothing to do with the national security of the United States. This practice violates the principle of free competition in the market economy and will not benefit either party, including American companies. The U.S. wont gain the leading position in technology by suppressing Huawei. We call on the U.S. government to stop its unfair treatment of Huawei and remove it from the list of entities.
Huawei said that the extension of temporary permission issued by the U.S. government today did not change the fact that Huawei was treated unfairly. Whether the temporary license is extended or not, Huaweis operations are limited in substance. We will continue to focus on our products and serve global customers.
