According to foreign media reports, Amazons unmanned delivery robot Scout will be tested in California.
According to TheVerge and Usatoday, Amazon has been testing its unmanned delivery robot Scout near its headquarters in Snohomish County, Washington, in recent months. Today, Amazon announced that it will expand the scope of testing and conduct a larger test of unmanned delivery robots in Irvine, California.
Amazons Unmanned Delivery Robot Scout delivers packages only during the day; although these robots automatically navigate and deliver packages, each robot is accompanied by an Amazon employee to observe their operation. It is known that the Scout robot has six wheels, driven by batteries, and moves at walking speed. The robot is equipped with various sensors.
According to Amazon, shopping at Amazon Online Mall in the region may be robotic delivery as well as normal delivery. For months, Amazon has been training Scout, an unmanned delivery robot. In addition to Scout, Amazon is currently studying the use of UAVs for delivery, both of which are at an early stage.
