In the early morning of October 10, Typhoon Lichma, the 9th strong typhoon of this year, made its way north after landing in Wenling, Zhejiang Province. Today (11) afternoon, the Office of the Anhui Disaster Reduction and Relief Commission and the Provincial Emergency Management Department launched the IV level emergency response for disaster relief.
New Beijing News reporters learned from the Anhui Provincial Government Information Office on November 11 that heavy rainstorms occurred along the Yangtze River in the southern part of the province, causing house damage, flooding of crops, destruction of roads and bridges, power supply and communication interruptions in Ningguo, Guangde and Jixi. As of 11:00 p.m. on November 11, 522,000 people were affected by the disaster, one died as a result of the disaster; 10,000 people were urgently relocated, 628 of whom were centralized and 9380 were dispersed; the area affected by crops was 2.19 thousand hectares; 74 houses collapsed, 32 seriously damaged and 81 generally damaged; and the direct economic loss was 51.164 million yuan, including farmers. Industrial losses were 19.507 million yuan.
In view of the current disaster situation and disaster development trend, according to the provisions of Anhui Natural Disaster Relief Emergency Plan, the office of the Provincial Disaster Reduction and Relief Commission and the Provincial Emergency Management Department decided to launch the emergency response level IV of Anhui Province for Xuancheng at 10:00 on August 11.
At present, the provincial disaster reduction and relief office has sent two working groups to Ningguo, Guangde and other disaster-stricken areas to inspect the situation, guide the work of disaster relief, and urgently allocate 800 folding beds and 2000 air-conditioned quilts to ensure the basic livelihood of the disaster-stricken people. To organize multi-departments to rush through, drain stagnant water, investigate road traffic, investigate public facilities such as dangerous old houses, shacks and temporary structures in disaster-stricken areas, transfer resettlement personnel in time, and properly arrange basic life.
Anhui Provincial Government Information Office said that the current impact of typhoons on the province tends to end, the weather gradually improved, but affected by the upstream rainfall and disaster lag and other factors, disaster prevention and mitigation and relief work in some areas is still facing greater pressure.
