In his speech at the Huawei DevelopersConference yesterday, Zhang Ping-an released MapKit, Huawei Map Service Capability for Overseas Development. In his speech, he said that more than 50% of the applications in the world now integrate all kinds of map services. It can be said that maps are the basic services that many applications need to call. HUAWEIMapKit is a backstage map service capability, not a consumer-oriented map application, Zhang Ping-an said. We hope that overseas application developers can integrate HUAWEIMapKit and use Huaweis map service capabilities to ensure the continuity of user experience when other map services are not available. We will give full play to the core-end-cloud collaborative advantage of Huawei smart terminal, open more map innovation services, so that application developers have a broader space for innovation.
Overseas Huawei Map Service capability will open up 6 categories and 25 API interfaces, covering more than 150 countries and regions overseas, and supporting more than 40 languages. Through MapKit, developers can customize maps and add markers, real-time road and route planning, precise positioning and AR navigation and marking. Zhang Ping-an told reporters that these capabilities are expected to be open to developers after October 2019.
