He also said that in the past eight years, Huaweis consumer sales grew 68-fold, from a small and medium-sized manufacturer ranked below to one of the top three suppliers of smart terminals. Last year, shipments of mobile phones reached 206 million units.

According to data provided by Yu Chengdong, Huaweis mobile phone market share in China has exceeded 35%, rising to 17.6% globally.

In the second quarter of this year, Huawei shipped 37.3 million smartphones in China, ranking first with 38.2% market share, according to data released this week by Strategy Analytics, a well-known Market Research organization.
