Hong Kongs ancestral grave was destroyed by the legislator: I would rather be a complete Chinese

Interview with He Junyao: I dont hate the British government, but I prefer to be a complete Chinese.

He Junyao is not a familiar name for mainlanders who do not know Hong Kong affairs. Recently, however, the Legislative Council member has occupied a large part of the media in Hong Kong. Just because some white-clothed people clashed with demonstrators at Yuen Long Station on West Rail on July 21, a video of He Junyao shaking hands with the white-clothed people was circulated online. Although He Junyao soon clarified the facts, it was rendered by the opposition and some media. This video became the evidence of the collusion between organized parliamentarians and underworld.

Over the next two days, Ho Junyaos office in Tsuen Wan was smashed, more alarmingly, his parentsgraveyard was smashed by radicals, but compared with the 21-yen-long clash, the length of Hong Kong media coverage shrank dramatically. On the 25th, a reporter from the Global Times came to Ho Junyaos office to listen to his account of the events in Yuen Long.

Restoring Yuen Long Incident: Black Clothes Peoples Aggression First

He Junyao is a member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, a member of the Tuen Mun District Council and a president of Lingnan University. He was formerly President of the Hong Kong Bar Association. During the illegal Zhanzhong campaign in 2014, He Junyao set up the Central Defense Group to appeal to the public not to participate in the illegal Zhanzhong, and his patriotic and patriotic stance towards Hong Kong is extremely firm.

Lets start right away. When Global Times reporter came to Ho Junyaos office, he was dealing with his business. This is a typical lawyers office. The bookshelves, tables and even the ground were full of files. A couplet with the words green onion exercises those years, years make life easier was hanging behind his desk, He Junyao said. Thats from a friend.

He Junyao told reporters that on the evening of the 21st, a large number of demonstrators took the lead in the joint venture, and another group ran to Yuen Long. He himself had dinner with friends in Jordan, returned to Yuen Longs home at about 9 p.m., and took his friends with him. On the 17th, I petitioned the Chief of Police for disapproval of the opposition parade. In addition, I have set up a public welfare legal team, and anyone affected by the demonstration can turn to us for assistance. So there are three reasons why I appeared in Yuen Long that night: to go home, to send friends, and to deal with legal consultation incidentally.

He Junyao said that he was a member of Parliament of the West New Territories, and many citizens of Yuen Long knew him. It was normal to greet him. He was not an organizer of violence. One of the people who wear white clothes is something I know. I only know that they are mainly for protection and defensive in order to prevent people in black from making trouble. He also advised not to do too much.

The black clothes are also provocative, why more than 300 people follow Lin Zhuoting (opposition MP), Lin Zhuoting you are not going home, not sightseeing, but to other peoples hometown riots. He Junyao believes that violence is indeed wrong, but we can not push all the mistakes out.

After the conflict, the video of He Junyao shaking hands with the Baiyi people was dramatized by the opposition and his normal life was broken. Someone posted my office address, phone number and even my sons information on the social media. In the second wave, the address of my parentscemetery was also posted, and some people said that studying tombstones can understand the history of Hong Kong and so on. Sima Zhaozhis heart, everybody knows it!

According to Hong Kongs Wen Hui Daily, more than 100 people in black clothes and masks appeared in the Tsuen Fung Center on the afternoon of the 22nd, with dozens of them surrounded the office of Legislative Council Member He Junyao, shouting slogans, slapping glass and throwing eggs. Others took local materials under the cover of umbrellas. The metal flow fence in the shopping mall was used as a weapon to hit the office glass, and then one after another broke into the office and carried out extensive damage. On the afternoon of the 23rd, his parentsgrave was destroyed, and the destroyers made indecent gestures towards the grave. On the same day, 39 members of the Hong Kong Constitutional Legislative Council issued a joint statement strongly condemning the vicious targeting of violent elements and even the vicious acts of destroying the graves of Ho Junyaos ancestors.

Strangely, some Hong Kong media are calm about the acts of sabotage by radicals, and follow-up reports of the Yuen Long conflict are broadcast on television in turn.

The Hong Kong media are silent. He Junyao looked angry: They were concerned about whether the police colluded with the people in white clothes? Why havent you been there for a long time after the 21 th post-conflict? Some of the demonstrators were photographed changing their black clothes and dressing up as innocent citizens on the subway. There was no media attention and no report that within three hours, the police received 24,000 calls for help. It is noteworthy that Liu Zhaobang, the acting police commissioner (electronic police), once mentioned a detail in response to the media: We noticed a large number of people participating in the online group, there was a public appeal that night to fight 999 cases together.

As a result of one-sided interpretation by some media, Yuen Long Incident attracted a large number of firepower from the opposition. In the interview, He Junyao received a phone call. He talked quietly with the other side and took careful notes with his pen, so that the reporter of Global Times thought it was just a common business. Unexpectedly, he put down the phone and told reporters that it was another harassing phone call: The other party asked if it was me, and then said that he would order lunch with me, let me send it to him. He showed the reporter the words he had just written, and there were some dishes on the paper.

Why dont you hang up at once? The reporter asked.

Now that Im calling, Ill talk to him. I want to know who the other person is. When I ask him his address, he wont say anything. Previously, the media often said that He Junyao was very humorous, which seemed true. Now there are hundreds of harassment calls every day.

A meaningful handshake

After Yuen Longs conflict, Western countries such as Britain and the United States also expressed their concern. He Junyao thought it was not surprising that Anglo-American anti-China forces were inextricably linked with the opposition. He talked to the Global Times about a meal he attended on May 22: Barbara Woodward, British Ambassador to China, had been in Hong Kong during the fermentation of the amendment and invited Ho Junyao, another member of the Constitutional Party and four members of the opposition. In his view, the theme of the meal was to persuade members of the Constitutional Party to defect.

A Maoist member of the opposition stood at the door. I was standing on the other side. As soon as Barbara Woodward and her assistant entered the door, the Maoist member rushed up to shake hands. Who would have thought that Barbara Woodward turned to shake hands with me as if he hadnt seen it. The Maoist member was very surprised. He Junyao said that, as a rule, British people pay great attention to etiquette, especially diplomats. Barbara Woodward couldnt have missed the latest Maoist parliamentarian. This detail shows that, in the eyes of the British, the opposition parliamentarians are their accompaniers. Its like if I went out to dinner, would I shake hands with my assistant first?

He Junyao said frankly that since February, the United States has obviously interfered in Hong Kongs affairs and Chinas internal affairs. As a result, Hong Kong is facing a series of developments, which makes Hong Kong people very uncomfortable. Illegal anti-government organizations are distributed in different sectors of Hong Kong, interfering with Hong Kongs prosperity and stability. These people ultimately want to split Hong Kong out of Chinese territory, which is absolutely not allowed to happen. Hong Kong is dominated by the spirit of law. If Hong Kongs society reaches an uncontrollable situation, we should deal with it in accordance with Article 18 of the Basic Law. Another approach is that, according to the Garrison Act, the PLA can maintain social peace in Hong Kong in an emergency period if the Hong Kong police are no longer able to maintain the situation in Hong Kong. Of course, the first thing we need to call on is the SAR government and the police to stop the series of recovery operations currently being carried out in the name of peaceful marches, to stand up firmly and say no to all acts of violence! ________.
