One arrow and two stars! Chinas Private Launch Vehicle Launched and Orbited Successfully for the First Time

On July 25, at 1300 hours, Beijing Interstellar Glory Space Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Interstellar Glory) hyperbola-1 Yaoyi (SQX-1Y1) Small Solid Launch Vehicle ignited and launched at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China. Two satellites and several payloads were precisely put into a predetermined 300 km circular orbit in flight sequence.

This is the third attempt of Chinas private launch vehicle to launch into orbit. Hyperbola 1 Yaoyi has become the first private launch vehicle to launch into orbit in China.

The hyperbola-1 tele-1 adopts four-stage series configuration, the first three uses solid motor, and the fourth uses liquid engine with attitude and orbit control. The total length of the rocket is 20.8 meters, the total mass of the takeoff is about 31 tons, and the carrying capacity of the 500 km solar synchronous orbit (SSO) is 260 kilograms. It is the largest and most powerful launch vehicle for private space flight in China up to now.

This launch carries two satellites from Aerospace Science and Technology Space Engineering Development Co., Ltd. and Beijing University of Technology. It carries three final sub-loads: watermelon passenger payload, Star Age-6 payload and an experimental verification payload. It also adds two commercial weights of Changanaoshan automobile and Jinliufus one jar of good wine.

Star Glory said that by the end of 2020, the company is expected to complete the launch mission of the hyperbola-1 Yao-2-Yao-6 carrier rocket, form the large-scale launch of small solid launch vehicles, and start the journey to large-scale commercial launches.

Starglory was founded in October 2016, headquartered in Yizhuang, Beijing, and plans to provide launch vehicle service solutions for the global small satellite market. In June this year, Starglory completed the A++ round of financing. At present, the team size is more than 120 people.

Before the launch, Interstellar Glory completed two sub-orbital rocket launches. On April 5, 2018, Star Glory first flew the hyperbola-1 S sub-orbital rocket at an altitude of 108 kilometers, which was the first rocket launched by a private rocket company. On September 5, 2018, the Interstellar Glory Suborbital Rocket Hyperbola 1Z launched three cubic stars at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.
