The man was sentenced to four yearsimprisonment in the first instance for forcibly pulling out the key of a passenger car in advance

According to the Peoples Court of Baoying County, Jiangsu Province, on the afternoon of May 3 this year, at Baoying Section of Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, passenger Lv Mou asked the driver to stop. After being refused, Lv Mou rushed forward and forcibly pulled out the key of the bus, causing the car to stall and slide, threatening the safety of more than 10 passengers. Recently, the case was heard in Baoying County Court of Jiangsu Province. After trial, the court sentenced the defendant, Lv Mou, to four yearsimprisonment in accordance with Article 114 and Article 67, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Law of the Peoples Republic of China.

Lv Mou is Baoying Ren. On the afternoon of May 3, he returned to Baoying by bus from Shanghai to Chuzhou. At 7 p.m., the bus arrived at the Baoying Jing section, and Lv proposed to get off. But at this time, the bus was driving on the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, and the driver refused Lvs request. Seeing Lu Mou put his hand on the steering wheel, the bus driver quickly protected the steering wheel with his body, and then Lu Mou took advantage of the driver to protect the steering wheel, and forcibly pulled out the key of the bus.

At this time, the bus is running normally on the highway. When the key is pulled out, the bus loses power immediately and continues to slide forward under the action of inertia. Fortunately, the surrounding vehicles did not cause serious consequences due to timely avoidance, and the bus finally stopped after taxiing for several kilometers. Under the publics persuasion, Lv agreed to return the key to the driver. After the bus arrived at the terminal, the driver called the police and arrested Lv.

After trial, the court held that the defendant, Lv Mou, should know that the impact of vehicle driving on the highway would endanger other peoples property and life safety, but still forcibly pull out the key of the normal bus driving on the highway and allow the occurrence of danger. His behavior has constituted a crime of endangering public safety by dangerous means. Finally, according to Article 114 and Article 67, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Law of the Peoples Republic of China, the defendant of the first instance, Lv Mou, is sentenced to four yearsimprisonment.
