According to Zhou Xiaohuis relatives, on the day of the incident, a high school classmate of Zhou Xiaoxuezi also played at Zhou Xiaohuis home.

When Zhou Xiaobo arrived at Jichang Town Health Center at 22:40 on the same day, his 8-year-old son was rescued by rescuers. Zhou Xiaobo identified 1 as his second brothers home and 2 as his home according to the pictures on the spot.
Afterwards, Zhou Xiaobo heard the surviving four grandmothers say, I heard the rocks crashing on the mountain, and all of a sudden there was nothing. According to Zhou Xiaobo, according to the pictures on the spot, his house was on the hillside, half of which was destroyed by the landslide. The house of his neighbors four grandparents was not destroyed, while the house of his second brother, about 100 meters away from home, was all submerged by the soil. Two elder brothers, a family of four, and two other helpers were buried when they were eating at their home.
Zhou Xiaohui said that his eldest brother Zhou Xiao would be rescued by rescuers at 4:00 a.m. on the 24th, and his grandson was rescued at about 8:00 a.m. There is congestion in his brain, and he is now being treated in a hospital, Zhou Xiaohui said.

According to Xinhua News Agency, the landslide totaled more than 2 million cubic meters, with an average slope of 28 degrees, a vertical height difference of 500-800 meters, a total length of 1,100 meters and an average thickness of about 5 meters. The landslide formed six sub-areas.
Zhou Xiaobo rushed back to Liupanshui City from Pingdi Village at about 15 p.m. on the 24th, and went to the funeral home to identify the remains.
