British Royal Expert: The Queen will hand over her rights to Prince Charles in two years.
Queen Elizabeth II, 93, may hand over power to her son and heir, Prince Charles, after the age of 95, according to British Royal experts, the Mirror reported on July 8. Elizabeth II reigned for 66 years and was the longest reigning monarch in British history.
Royal expert Phil Dampier said that the Queen may transfer her rights to her successors through some legal procedures, but he also insisted that the Queen herself would not abdicate voluntarily. He said, I dont think the Queen will ever take the initiative to abdicate, which she has stated on many occasions.
Another royalty expert, Robert Jobson, agreed with this view. A member of the royal family once told me that Her Majesty wanted to make sure that she had done everything she could for her people and country before she handed over the Royal power.
When Jobson said, I fully understand why Her Majesty thought about abdication, but I also believe that if she reached the age of 95 and was still alive, she would seriously consider giving way to Prince Charles.
