From January to May 2019, the national online retail sales volume was 3864.1 billion yuan, an increase of 17.8% over the same period last year. Among them, online retail sales of physical goods increased by 21.7% to 304.15 billion yuan, accounting for 18.9% of the total retail sales of consumer goods; online retail sales of food, clothing and other goods increased by 28.5%, 21.2% and 21.2%, respectively.
1. The Meaning of Indicators
Total retail sales of social consumer goods: refers to the amount of physical goods sold by enterprises (units) to individuals and social groups for non-production and non-business purposes through transactions, as well as the amount of income derived from the provision of catering services.
Online retail sales: refers to the total retail sales of goods and services through public online trading platforms (including self-built websites and third-party platforms). Goods and services include physical goods and non-physical goods (such as virtual goods, service goods, etc.).
The total retail sales of social consumer goods include the online retail sales of physical goods, but exclude the online retail sales of non-physical goods.
2. Survey subjects
Corporate enterprises, industrial activity units and individual households engaged in commodity retail activities or providing catering services. Among them, units above the quota refer to wholesale enterprises (units) with annual main business income of 20 million yuan or more, retail enterprises (units) with annual main business income of 5 million yuan or more, accommodation and catering enterprises (units) with annual main business income of 2 million yuan or more.
Because the scope of wholesale and retail enterprises, accommodation and catering enterprises (units) above the quota changes every year, in order to ensure that the data of this year are comparable with that of last year, the same period used to calculate the growth rate of retail sales of consumer goods per unit above the quota is consistent with the statistical range of enterprises (units) in this period, and there is a caliber difference from the data published last year. The main reasons are as follows: (1) Every year, some enterprises (units) reach the quota standard and are included in the scope of the investigation. At the same time, some enterprises (units) withdraw from the scope of the investigation because their scale is smaller than the quota standard, and there are also the effects of newly opened enterprises, bankruptcy, note (revocation) enterprises (units). (2) The monthly report of 2019, combined with the results of the fourth national economic census unit inventory (August-December 2018), re-verifies and identifies the units above the quota at the end of 2018. Enterprises (units) that fail to meet the quota standard are included in the scope of the unit survey below the quota.
3. Investigation methods
All units above the quota are investigated, and the units below the quota are sampled.
4. Ring-to-Ring Data Revision
According to the result of automatic revision of seasonal adjustment model, the annual growth rate of total retail sales of social consumer goods since May 2018 is revised. The revised results and the ring-to-ring data for May 2019 are as follows:
