The failure of Indias first test launch of a hypersonic vehicle failed to achieve the desired results.

[Global Times Comprehensive Report] The Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) conducted its first hypersonic technology validation flight test on December 12, according to media reports such as The Times of India and others. The Indian side initially said that the launch was successful, but then said that the test launch did not achieve the desired effect.

In a statement, Indias Ministry of Defense said the DRDO launch was to verify a series of key technologies.

The hypersonic vehicle, equipped with a scramjet, can cruise at Mach 6 and rise to an altitude of 32.5 kilometers in 20 seconds, the report said. At present, only a few big countries in the world have mastered hypersonic vehicle technology, so this test launch has attracted much attention from the outside world. (Zhang Xiang)
