US accuses India of buying Russian S400 system: it will affect US-Indian defense cooperation

[Global Network Military Reporting] Russian Satellite News Agency reported on June 13 that Alice Wells, the chief assistant secretary of state in charge of South and Central Asia affairs of the United States, said on June 13 that India had purchased Russian-made S-400 air defense missile system, which may affect defense cooperation between the United States and India.

Speaking before the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Wells said: As for the S-400, this may actually result in restrictions on the use of American weapons in India. Wells pointed out that the issue of sanctions should be considered when Indias purchase of S-400 becomes a fait accompli. The United States will continue to explore how to promote India to abandon its purchase of S-400.

The United States has been trying to dissuade other countries from buying Russias S-400 air defense missile system or threatening sanctions.
