Overseas Network, June 12 - On the morning of June 12, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference. Anfengshan, spokesman of the Taiwan Office of the Peoples Republic of China, answered reportersquestions on hot issues such as cross-strait political party exchanges, cross-strait military mutual trust and cross-strait cultural exchanges.
Some journalists asked questions. The 11th Straits Forum will be held in Xiamen soon. Please give a brief introduction to the preparations. The Taiwan Continental Commission recently banned Taiwan-related persons and groups from participating in the Straits Forum. What is the comment of the spokesman? Thank you.
Anfengshan said that the 11th Straits Forum will be held in Fujian Province on June 15, with more than 60 events in a week. Among them, the Forum Conference will be held in Xiamen on the morning of June 16. The Forum was held jointly by more than 80 units and associations across the Straits. At present, preparations for the Forum are progressing in an orderly manner. The Office of the Organizing Committee of the Straits Forum will hold a press conference in Xiamen on June 14, when you can get more information.
At present, more than 10,000 people from all counties, cities and all walks of life in Taiwan have signed up to participate in the Straits Forum, which is larger than previous sessions, Anfeng Shan said. This fully demonstrates that the Straits Forum adheres to the orientation of non-governmental, grass-roots and broad-based, actively promotes cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, and promotes the spiritual harmony of compatriots across the Straits, which is widely recognized and welcomed by the Taiwan people. Our compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait have a strong and profound basis of public opinion. To strengthen cross-strait exchanges and cooperation is the common aspiration of our compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Anfengshan stressed: The unreasonable obstruction of the DPP authorities has exposed their fear of cross-strait exchanges and cooperation approaching a good mentality, which will not affect the success of the Taiwan Strait Forum. We also advise the DPP authorities not to go against the trend of the times, turn back the tide of history and act as a stumbling block in cross-strait non-governmental exchanges, which will harm the interests of Taiwan compatriots, otherwise they will only be rejected by the compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
