[Global Times Comprehensive Report] The annual Taiwanese Hanguang exercise is about to begin. Probably in order to prevent mistakes in the formal exercises, on the 21st and 22nd, the Taiwanese Army held what the Taiwanese media called Hanguang exercise preview combat readiness task training. According to the Joint News website, more than 20 warships and more than 20 sorties participated in the training. All the main fighter planes of Air Force 3 fired live ammunition at air-to-air missiles.

Lianhe Bao reported on the 22nd that the day in Hualien offshore combat readiness mission training, participating in more than 20 ships, more than 1700 officers and soldiers. The participating forces include Keelung, Success, Perry, Jiyang, Kangding, Jinjiang, Tuojiang, Guanghua VI missile speedboat and S-70C anti-submarine helicopter, P-3C anti-submarine aircraft, F-16, Mirage 2000, IDF fighter and other naval and air forces. The joint combat capability is verified by real-fire exercises. At the end of last year, the newly formed Perry class frigate Mingzhuan also made its first appearance at sea, and took off and landed S-70C (M) helicopter for submarine drills.

Reported that Taiwans Naval Command said that the exercise situation is supposed to be enemy in the Soviet Macao and Hong Kong outer waterway to complete the mine laying, and a large number of other air targets flying over the northern part of the Strait, and pointing to the northern part of Taiwan Island. The battle center releases the harbor area to prepare for war according to the threat of enemy situation, and each ship immediately exits the harbor, sails into the eastern coastal area through the minefield and joins with the marine detachment to carry out combat protection. The next day, it joins with the naval vessels of Hualien Harbor and forms a surface combat detachment, carries out combat integration, confronts the enemy ships coming from the eastern part, and ACHS out the goal of combating the enemy at sea.

The second stage of the drill is the anti-submarine warfare stage. The P-3C anti-submarine aircraft reconnaissance and search enemy submarines in the air and sea. The Jiyang and Jinjiang class warships attack underwater targets with anti-submarine rockets and deep-water bombs respectively. The Navy S-70C anti-submarine helicopter also takes off on board the Mingzhuan and carries out sea-air cooperative anti-submarine. In addition, Taiwan Air Force F-16, Mirage-2000 and IDF fighters attack targets with rattlesnake, magic and Tianjian-1 missiles.

Reported that it can be imagined that with the PLA naval and air forces breaking through the first island chain frequently, Taiwans Eastern Pacific Sea and airspace is no longer a carefree backyard, but a possible battlefield in the future.

However, the mainland military experts believe that the Taiwanese army conducted live-fire exercises in the sea area east of Taiwan, mainly to prevent direct reconnaissance by the PLA, and the vast eastern sea area and airspace are more conducive to the exercise. Experts said that the Taiwanese Army had made the best use of the equipment during the exercise. If the equipment could be handled 20 years ago, it would look shabby compared with the current strength of the Taiwanese Navy. If the Taiwanese army wants to frighten anyone with such exercises, the first one to be frightened is probably the people on the island. (Chapter)
