 For the first time in nine years! Japan announced the recruitment of college students to the Americas Cup


Japans National Team announced on July 17 that striker Ikeshi Ueda of the University of Law and Politics will take part in the Americas Cup in Brazil in June this year. Japan U22 announced the Toulon Cup list on the same day. Ichi Uda was not included in the list because he wanted to participate in the Americas Cup.

In the Asian Cup qualifying match against Yemen in January 2010, the Japanese team recruited two university student players, Yongjing Qianyou (Fukuoka University), Yamamura (University of Circulation Economics).

Yasushi Ueda represented Japan in last years Asian Games and helped Japan advance to the final. Ultimately, he lost 1-2 to the Korean team led by Sun Xingtu.
