Zhou Jing (pen name Qin Jian), author of the defendants original novel Jinxiuweiyang, was convicted of infringement. According to the judgment, within 10 days from the effective date of the judgment, the plaintiff Shen Wenwen was compensated for 120,000 economic losses and 165,500 expenditures on rights protection, totalling 136,500 yuan.

According to the judgment of the Peoples Court of Chaoyang District in Beijing, the defendant Zhou Jing still needs to stop the reproduction, distribution and network dissemination of the novel Jinxiuweiyang immediately from the date when the judgment comes into effect; because when the company is a book seller of Jinxiuweiyang, according to the provisions of Article 53 of the Copyright Law, the defendant should immediately stop copying the novel Jinxiuweiyang on the day when the judgment comes into effect. It is reported that in 2013, the novel Jinxiuweiyang (formerly known as Poisonous Common Woman) was launched on the website Xiaoxiang Academy. In four years, the novel was serialized online, published in books, remade into a TV drama, and developed comic books and hand-trips of the same name, which became an influential IP. On January 4, 2017, 11 writers filed a plagiarism case against Jinxiuweiyang in the Peoples Court of Chaoyang District, Beijing. In February 2017, well-known writer Wen Ruian joined in the plagiarism lawsuit of Fairview Weiyang and joined 11 writers who had previously filed a case to defend their rights.
