Netease Entertainment reported on April 16 that large entertainment companies, such as YG Entertainment Company, BIGHIT Entertainment Company and TS Entertainment Company, were punished by the Korea Fair Trading Commission for violating the E-commerce Law when selling products around idol artists online.
According to the Korean Electronic Commerce Law, the information about the business enterprise, the origin of the products sold, the terms of refund and the period of refund must be indicated on the website. Some websites of YG Entertainment Company, BIGHIT Entertainment Company and TS Entertainment Company which sell peripheral products have omitted the business enterprise, others have omitted the terms of refund, so they have been ordered to be changed by the Fair Trading Commission. He was also fined a total of 14 million won.
Officials of the Fair Trading Commission of Korea said that the surrounding products of idol artists are mainly aimed at young consumers, and the Fair Trading Commission will strengthen the supervision of these products to ensure the interests of young consumers.
