Netease Entertainment reported on April 16 that Zhao Douchun, the criminal prototype of the Korean film Su Yuan, will be released from prison next year. The Zhao Douchun Law will be implemented in South Korea from today, and one-to-one surveillance measures will be taken for the criminals who commit sexual assault on minors after they are released from prison.
In 2008, Zhao Douchun pulled an 8-year-old girl to the toilet and caused a great disturbance in Korea. Although the Korean people demanded severe punishment for Zhao Douchun, the court sentenced him to 12 yearsimprisonment on the grounds that Zhao Douchun was in a weak state of self-control when he committed the crime. With the approaching date of Zhao Douchuns release from prison, the Korean people went to the website of Qingwatai to petition for the government to take measures to prevent Zhao Douchun from committing the crime. Zhi Zhao Doucun was released from prison. The Korean government introduced the Zhao Dou Chun Law at the beginning of last year and passed parliamentary deliberations on 28 January. It will be formally implemented from today. According to the law, criminals who have sexually assaulted minors will continue one-to-one surveillance after their release from prison.
It is reported that a total of 3056 people in South Korea currently wear electronic foot chains for sexual offences. Five of them will be monitored one-to-one with the implementation of the new law. Zhao Douchun, who will be released from prison next year, will also be fully monitored under the law.
