Netease Technologies News April 11, Apple has persuaded more and more suppliers to provide 100% clean energy products for their orders.
Apple launched its supplier clean energy project as early as 2015. Apple claims that 44 suppliers have joined the clean energy project, almost double the number in 2018. Thanks to these new partners, Apple expects to bring more than 4 gigawatts of renewable energy projects to the global supply chain by 2020.
Lisa Jackson, Vice President of Environment, Policy and Social Affairs of Apple, said in a statement: Every time a supplier joins our project to tackle climate change, we are closer to building a better future for future generations. Supplierscompliance with certain environmental standards has become our priority, and we hope that our cooperation will prove to others that this is feasible. Although we are proud of todays announcement, we will continue to promote industry-wide support for clean energy conversion worldwide.
Apple has been promoting its commitment to clean energy recently, and announced last year that it has achieved full renewable energy supply. This development means that more and more manufacturers are starting to use renewable energy in at least some of their businesses. (passer by)
