According to CNN, an 80-year-old New York man has been charged by Virginia Beach police with being believed to be the culprit in the murder of two girls who had not been solved in 46 years.

Reported that the double corpse occurred in 1973, when only 19-year-old Janis Pitrobora and Lynn Settler traveled from Pittsburgh to Virginia Beach for vacation.

Police said they were brutally murdered in a cabin in a seaside Motel on June 30, and their deaths were convicted of murder.

After the investigation failed, the case was gradually forgotten. The cottage has been demolished and rebuilt into motels and shops.

Last fall, Virginia Beach Police cold case investigators worked with local prosecutors to actively investigate an important clue in the case.

Police arrested Ernest Brodnax in New York on Monday, charged with two second-degree murders and one rape.

Police said it was not clear whether Brodnax had hired a lawyer.

According to records, Brodnex was released on parole in 2013 after being imprisoned three times in New York for assault, burglary and attempted burglary.
