On the morning of April 11, 2019, the Zhengzhou Intermediate Peoples Court of Henan Province publicly sentenced Wang Sanyun, former vice-chairman of the Education, Science, Culture and Health Committee of the National Peoples Congress, to accept bribes. Wang Sanyun, the defendant, was sentenced to 12 yearsimprisonment for bribery and fined RMB 4 million yuan. The property and fruits of Wang Sanyuns bribery were recovered and turned over to the state treasury.

The amount of his actions is especially huge, and his actions have constituted the crime of accepting bribes. In view of the fact that Wang Sanyun voluntarily handed over the bribery offences that the handling organ did not grasp, he surrendered himself; provided clues to detect other major cases, proved to be true and had a significant performance of meritorious service; confessed guilt and repented, actively returned the stolen money and stolen goods, all of which were recovered, and could be punished lightly according to law. The court then rendered the above judgment.
Seventeen years after Wang Sanyun left the province, his men were dug up again.
