Rescue is still underway for six people who were identified as missing from the train derailment accident at Chinalco.

It is understood that this special railway for transporting aluminium ore about 22 kilometers long was built in the 1950s. Recently, there are about three trains a day to transport aluminium ore from Gongyi to Chinalco from west to east. Incident section, about 22 per 1000 degrees of continuous downhill. There are 25 trains in question, each with 34 tons of dead weight, 60 tons of dead weight and a total train weight of about 2350 tons.

After the incident, the main leaders of Henan Emergency Management Department, Zhengzhou City, Gongyi City and Shangjie District rushed to the scene immediately, and organized emergency, fire control, medical and public security departments, as well as China Aluminum Corporation and Zhengzhou Railway Bureau, to do their best in emergency rescue work. Relevant units mobilized 150 tons and 100 tons of cranes each, as well as six ambulances to the scene, and more than 200 search and rescue personnel participated in the scene rescue. Rescue workers used radar life detector, infrared detector, hydraulic disassembly toolkit, search and rescue dogs and so on. It is reported that the locomotive and the first 13 carriages collided with a house and the earth ridge behind the house after overturning, superimposed and distorted, and piled up with a large amount of aluminium ore. The working space is limited, and the site can only accommodate one large-scale hoisting equipment to enter, causing great difficulties for rescue. Rescue workers cut the overlapping carriage and lifted the debris from the carriage with a crane. After the accident, Chinalco has asked all trains on the line to stop operation. At present, the identity of six missing persons has been determined, and the rehabilitation work is progressing in an orderly manner.
