BEIJING, April 11 (Xinhua) According to the Thai World Daily, a fire broke out in a hotel in Bangkok on the afternoon of 10 local time, spreading rapidly, resulting in 3 deaths and 7 injuries.

Reported that around 17:40 on the same day, Bangkoks Centara Grandat Central World came out of the fire, the fire spread rapidly, many people trapped upstairs.

Fire brigades from Baton Wan District rushed to the scene and found that a large amount of smoke was rising from the top of the hotel building. Hotel and mall staff quickly guided customers to escape to safety. At 18:30, considering the safety of customers, Shangtai Commercial and Trade Center announced the temporary closure of services, while facilitating the rescue of the wounded by the police and rescue workers.

At present, the police have blocked the whole scene of the incident. Bangkok Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office pointed out that the fire has been controlled, but the details of the accident need to be further investigated. The mayor of Bangkok will visit the scene immediately after the fire is put out.

In an interview, Baton Wong District Governor said that the fire broke out from the file storage room on the 8th floor of the hotel. Two people jumped directly from the 7th floor in order to escape. One of them died and one was seriously injured.

Previously, Bangkok Love Bay Medical Center said that after the fire was extinguished, two people were initially found seriously injured by inhaling excessive smoke and had been sent to Zhulalonggong Hospital and Police Hospital for treatment.
