Amanda and her 31-year-old ex-husband Kevin Lewis had been married for eight years and had three children. Amanda sued for divorce after a long period of domestic violence. Kevin threatened to kill his ex-wife if he did not get custody and alimony for the children.
In August 2017, Amanda was granted custody of three children, and Kevin had to pay them $800 a month for maintenance.
Kevin hired his then 19-year-old cousin Geraldon Phelps and his 17-year-old girlfriend to order them to kill Amanda. In return, Kevin paid the couple $2400 on the spot.
At 1:55 a.m. on the day of the incident, Gerraton and his girlfriend knocked on the door of Amandas residence. Because of their close appearance, they thought that Alisa who answered the door was her sister Amanda. They shot her several times and killed her. In fact, on the day of the incident, Amanda was on a business trip, and newly married Alisa stayed at her sisters home to help take care of the children.
Hours after the murder, Gerraton shared with the social media photographs of hundreds of dollars and wrote, Youll never guess what I did for the money.
On April 8, Kevin, Gerraton and their girlfriend were charged with murder.
