[Global Network Military Report of 5 March] Russian Satellite News Agency reported on 4 March that Vladimir Jabarov, First Vice-Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian Federation Commission, told Russian Satellite News Agency that Russia did not intend to deploy missiles restricted by the Treaty in border areas after the cessation of the implementation of the Guidance Treaty. Earlier, Russian President Putin signed a presidential decree on Russias suspension of the implementation of the Guidance Treaty.
The cessation of Russias compliance with the Treaty does not mean that it will deploy such missiles in the border areas, Jabarov said. The Russian side will not do so, and the suspension of the treaty will not provide for it. But if such missiles are deployed in Europe, we will immediately deploy them domestically, he added.
Jabarov stressed that the United States needs the Guidance Treaty more than Russia. Now we are not subject to any restrictions, he said.
