At the meeting, Ding also reviewed Huaweis achievements in 5G and AI in the past year: at last years MWC (Mobile World Congress), Huawei released 5G end-to-end solutions; on October 10, last year, it released AI chips and solutions with the highest performance and lowest power consumption; and in the coming Spring Festival, 2019, Huawei will use 5G technology to broadcast 4K Spring Festival Gala live.
Ding Yun also revealed that up to now, Huawei has obtained 30 5G contracts, and 5G has shipped 25,000 base stations.
Yang Chaobin, president of Hua5G product line, also introduced Hua5Gs advantages. He pointed out that 5G broadband and multi-antenna can achieve 100-fold capacity improvement, 97 times that of 4G cell. In addition, 5G saves 35% of the delivery cycle, greatly reduces the installation process, facilitates deployment, and saves the upcoming process in maintenance.
At present, Huawei has completed all commercial tests of 5G, and has taken the lead in breaking through the key technologies of 5G commercial scale, achieving the perfect combination of full-system, full-band and multi-antenna, and achieving the highest degree of integration in the industry. Yang Chaobin said.
In 2018, Huawei played the prelude of 5G scale deployment, released a series of commercial products, and validated them in the global field, taking the lead in the global scale commercial. In the first half of 2019, Huaweis 5G smartphones with 5G chips will also enter the market, which is expected to be commercially available in the second half of 2019.
