Recently, Zheng Huizhong, a veteran Taiwanese artist, slapped Zheng Lijun at a dinner party because he was dissatisfied with Zheng Lijun, Taiwans Minister of Culture who promoted de-Chiang Hua. After that, Zheng Huizhong held a press conference to apologize for beating people, but insisted on protesting against de-Jianghua.
On the morning of the 23rd, Zheng Huizhong went to the Ministry of Culture to apologize to Zheng Lijun personally. In the afternoon, he was summoned to appear in court by the Taipei Local Procuratorate.
Relevant investigation results show that Zheng Lijuns activities on the same day belong to the official journey. Zheng Huizhongs action is feared to involve the crime of obstructing public affairs, and will face up to three yearsimprisonment.
Zheng Lijun, Taiwans Minister of Culture, was slapped by 67-year-old Taiwanese artist Zheng Huizhong when she attended a Chinese New Year dinner for entertainers, Taiwans Lianhe Daily reported Wednesday.
In the afternoon, Zheng Huizhong, accompanied by Taipei City Councillor Ying Xiaowei, held a press conference to explain the incident and apologize for beating people, but did not regret it. He insisted on protesting against de-Jianghua.
Subsequently, Zheng Huizhong took the initiative to go to the Taipei Local Procuratorate Office to explain the situation. The prosecution found that she was suspected of injury, public insult and obstruction of public affairs, but because she was not a current offender, she took the initiative to explain the case, and low-income households proved that she had only made restricted residence disposal at present.
On the morning of the 23rd, Zheng Huizhong personally went to the Ministry of Culture to apologize to Zheng Lijun. However, due to Zheng Lijuns absence of official duties, Zhang Huijun, Director of the Department of Art Development, took the place of Zheng Lijun.
Before leaving, Zheng Huizhong emphasized once again that his actions were too impulsive, but disagreed with Zheng Lijuns support for de-Jianghua, and said that he would find another opportunity to apologize to him face to face.
In order to confirm whether Zheng Huizhongs action violated the crime of obstructing public affairs, the Taipei Geographic Procuratorate yesterday (23) summoned four witnesses, including the Special Committee of the Office of the Minister of Culture, the Secretary of the Office of the Minister of Culture, the Special Committee of the Law and Regulations Council, and the Chairman of the Foundation for Concerned Performing Personnel, Zhuang Fengjia, etc. Relevant evidence shows that Zheng Lijun attended the event on behalf of the Ministry of Culture at that time, belonging to the exercise of official duties.
There is still no complaint in the whole case, but if Zheng Lijun prosecutes, Zheng Huizhong may face up to three yearsimprisonment.
Zheng Huizhongs name is Zheng Xinyi. In his early years, he was a signatory singer in Taiwan. He was once named a female Volunteer Police singer. He was busy with police work during the day and would sing in hotels at night.
After the slap incident, the DPP condemned violence. Zheng Lijun also responded on her personal social platform.
She expressed her expectation that they could talk and discuss with each other, but they should never express their opinions in the form of violence. She called on Taiwan society to face the conflict rationally and calmly, return to the discussion of public issues and stop copying any violence.

Yesterday, Zheng Lijun officially declared that after being beaten, his face was numb all day long. At the same time, he emphasized that transformation justice should not be simplified as de-Chiang Kai-shek but re-democratization.
However, this statement was once again criticized angrily. Li Tianduo, a former official of Taiwans security authority, said frankly that it was cultural independence of Taiwan.
Hao Longbin, deputy chairman of the Kuomintang, commented that Zheng Lijun was slapped in the face of this slap, the officials forced the people to oppose it, but more people suffered heartburn and bruises because of going to the center by shaving roots.
Hou Hanting, a Taipei City Councillor with a new party membership, said the incident was a causal cycle, indicating that the DPP would inevitably suffer reactions if it perpetuated long-term violence against non-ethnic groups.
According to a poll conducted by Taiwans Joint News on the matter, the number of votes that Zheng Huizhong has acted improperly, but the Democratic Progressive Party should review itself remains high.
