[Global Times Comprehensive Report] According to Kyodo News Agency, Japans Ministry of Defense announced on the same day that, in response to foreign aircraft that may violate its airspace, JASDF fighter planes made 758 emergency launches from April to December last year. This figure is 22 times higher than the same period last year, the second largest since 2005. Activities around Japan continue to be active, and vigilance and surveillance will strive to be foolproof, said the head of the Ministry of Defence.

Reported that compared with the same period in the previous year, the number of emergency lifts for Chinese aircraft reached 476, an increase of 81; for Russia, 270, a decrease of 58. China is mostly fighter planes, while Russia is mostly intelligence gathering planes.

Among them, Chinese airplanes have made six flights to the Sea of Japan through the Strait of Ma, exceeding three flights in 2016 and 2017, and have reached new heights. There were nine passes between Okinawa Island and Miyagi Island. Although the 17 passes between Okinawa Island and Miyagi Island decreased in the same period last year, they are still the second largest in history. Long-distance flights are increasing, the Ministry of Defense said. (Zhang Xiang)
