Payment of car loans was forced to pay another 8500 yuan

Police seized a large number of vehicle loan contracts and other related materials from Rongchang Company, and contacted some victims. Mr. Chen, a 55-year-old citizen, was introduced to Rongchang Company for vehicle installment loan when he bought a car at a 14S shop in April 2015.

In order to buy a car worth about 90,000 yuan, Mr. Chen pays a down payment of 55,000 yuan and pays back 3750 yuan a month for three years. Vehicles are required to register under the name of Rongchang Company, otherwise they have to pay 3000 yuan more. According to the police, Mr. Chen registered the vehicle under the name of Rongchang Company as required and paid back the loan monthly, totaling 135,000 yuan in 36 months. Mr. Chen paid off the loan in April last year and went through the transfer formalities after receiving the notification from Rongchang Company.

Rongchang Company has issued a repayment statement, and Mr. Chen has to pay a supervision fee of 6750 yuan, a transfer fee of 1500 yuan, and an insurance overdue fee of 3000 yuan. If he does not pay, the car will be sold within 7 days. In desperation, Mr. Chen paid 8,500 yuan. So far, Mr. Chen has spent more than 190,000 yuan.

Set traps for customers to run car loans and make windfall profits

According to the investigation, the legal representative of Rongchang Company is Wang Mou. Since the company was registered in 2013, it has set up a trap in dealing with car loans for customers, threatening them to pay high fees for profit. At the time of signing the contract, Rongchang employees urged the victim to sign the contract quickly, but the actual terms of the contract were obviously beneficial to Rongchang Company. Taking advantage of the victims psychology of picking up the car quickly, they requested that the car be registered under the name of the company and installed GPS positioning at their own expense by the designated businessmen.

If the overdue victim is not reminded, the vehicle will be illegally seized on the grounds of overdue loan, and the vehicle will be threatened to sell under the company name, forcing the victim to pay for the arrest fee, overdue default fee, supervision fee and transfer fee. Even if the victim pays off the loan on time, he will ask for payment of supervision fee and so on; if the car is in the victims name, it will not be threatened by the registration certificate. At present, the police have uncovered more than 20 cases. Wang Mou and three others were detained on suspicion of extortion, while three others were released on bail pending trial. On January 22, the police had submitted a request to the prosecution for approval of the arrest. Source: Huashang Net - author of Huashang Daily: responsible editor of Wei Nan: Han Jiapeng_NN9841
