On January 22, the National Development and Reform Commission held its first press conference in 2019 to introduce the macroeconomic operation. At the meeting, a spokesman for the NDRC said that by the end of 2018, 54.44 million people had been restricted to purchase high-speed rail tickets for EMUs.

The spokesman said that as for the construction of social credit system, by the end of December 2018, the aggregation of national credit information sharing platforms had continued to grow, the scope of China Unicom had been expanding, and the aggregation of various types of credit information had exceeded 30 billion.

In December 2018, more than 407,000 pieces of information about the subjects of the blacklist were added, involving about 341,000 subjects of the blacklist, and about 318,000 subjects of the blacklist were withdrawn. By the end of 2018, the national courts had issued a total of 12.77 million cases of dishonest executives, 17.74 million cases of restricted purchase of airline tickets, 5.44 million cases of restricted purchase of high-speed train tickets, 3.46 million cases of dishonest executives were deterred by credit punishment and voluntarily fulfilled their legal obligations; the tax authorities had published a total of 16,642 cases of blacklist.
