On the morning of the 21st, Hanoi held a 20-minute telephone conversation with Pompeo on the US-DPRK summit. He listened to the US sides explanation on the policy adjustment between the US and DPRK, and discussed the Countermeasures for the DPRK issue. The two sides also confirmed that they should continue to strengthen close cooperation among the United States, Japan and South Korea and work together to solve the Korean issue.
He also finalized talks with Pompeo and held talks with US foreign ministers in mid-February before the second US-DPRK summit.
It is reported that US President Trump met with Kim Yingzhe, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Labor Party, at the White House on the 18th. The two sides met for 90 minutes and discussed denuclearization and the second DPRK-US summit meeting. Later, a White House spokesman announced that Trump would meet again with North Koreas top leader, Kim Jong-un, at the end of February.
