The perpetrators of the 288 Pyramid Sales Case cheated 130 million people and still cheated when they fled for 19 years.

CCTV News: Not long ago, the police in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, successfully captured a fugitive who had absconded for 19 years through face-to-face comparison technology. In 1999, in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, a case of pyramid selling of 288 shopping value-added plan occurred, which made more than 10,000 people deceived. Ren Mohui, who was renamed Ren Bin in 1999, is the head of Harbin Company of Natural Lisa International Group. He promises that every member who goes offline can get a 30-40% Commission on the purchase of health fish oil, so as to recruit a large number of members in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province.

Chen Guojun, captain of the Economic Investigation Detachment of Harbin Public Security Bureau, Heilongjiang Province, said: The victims of the company have reached more than 10,000 people, amounting to over 100 million yuan. Suddenly the company went to the empty building and fled with the money.

According to police statistics, from April 1999 to November 1999, in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, there were more than 14,000 victims of 288 Plan, many of whom were pulling relatives and friends to buy products together. After receiving the report, the police of Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, promptly filed a case for investigation and found that the real name of Ren Bin, the head of the company, was Ren Mohui, who had fled in December 1999.

In 2006, Ren Mohui was registered by the public security department as a network fugitive, but he has not been exposed. In 2018, Ren Guanrong and Liu Jinguo entered the polices field of vision through face comparison technology. The photographs of the two men in the household registration system are similar, and in the comparison of appearance characteristics, they also match the suspect Ren Mouhui. Police suspect that the two names may be false identities used by Ren Mouhui during his escape. The police investigation found that Ren Mohui used many identities, such as Ren Bin, Ren Bin, Liu Jinguo, Ren Guanrong and Ren Zhenglong, to avoid arrest and engage in his old business.

Cheating while fleeing multiple identities

Ren Mouhui fled for many years, including his real name, and used six names. He became the so-called CEO of a health care company in Shandong Province. Many people were deceived because of their greed for high returns. In October 2018, the Harbin police in Heilongjiang sent four investigators to the health care company in Shandong Province.

After the evidence was confirmed, in November 2018, the police succeeded in arresting Ren Mouhui at the pyramid selling site of the health product company in Shandong Province. Ren confessed to his pyramid selling crime, and admitted that he had been engaged in similar pyramid selling work for 19 years since he fled. His so-called CEO status and image of suit and shoes are mainly to make more people believe in himself, develop offline and cheat money.

After the criminal suspect Ren Mouhui was released to Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, the police initially found out that Ren Mouhui was suspected of defrauding 130 million yuan of money during the pyramid selling activities organized in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. According to the criminal suspect Ren Mouhui, most of the fraudulent income was transferred to the account of his associate Su Mouhui. At present, his partner Sumoumou has been arrested and brought to justice by the police in Beijing. The police have investigated the flow of funds to his account and recovered the deceived money.

Xu Jiada, a police officer from the legal detachment of Harbin Public Security Bureau, said: At present, we have transferred the case to the procuratorate for prosecution, and the procuratorate is in the process of examining and prosecuting the criminal suspects behavior.
