Air strikes cant hurt. Bashars financial strategy for Iran is the best policy.

Iran spent about $15 billion in 2017 to support its long-term strategic partner in Damascus. It buys weapons for Bashars army and grants foreign Shiite militia, including Lebanese Hezbollah, to the Syria government. For Hizbullah alone, Iran spends between 700 million and 800 million dollars a year. Tehran sent an Islamic Revolutionary Guard to Syria to lend money to Bashar to import oil and other commodities. In addition to the $5 billion 600 million it has already provided, Iran added an additional 1 billion US dollar credit line in 2017. This credit is issued through the Export Development Bank of Iran, and all the funds will eventually be handled by the Central Bank of the country. Let these Iran financial leaders unimpeded Syria strategy is doomed to fail. Why didnt you stop them? The agreement relieves sanctions against assets and economic sectors of Irans banks, regimes and assets, for fear of endangering the joint comprehensive action plan for the 2015 nuclear agreement. The paralysis must be terminated, and the recent military strike with France and the UK should allow both sides of the Atlantic to reach an understanding and make a real financial battle against the ties between Iran and Syria. In 2011, the US Senate voted to vote against the Central Bank of Iran with 100 votes in favour and 0 votes against it. It is based on the banks support for Irans illegal nuclear weapons development, terrorist activities, missile proliferation, money laundering and evasion of sanctions. Such sanctions against Iraq are by no means confined to nuclear activities. If President Trump confirmed that a bank, company, or department in Iran was supporting Bashars crimes against humanity, such as the revolutionary guards and Hizbollah, who supported Bashars crimes against humanity, he had the right to restore sanctions against violations. President Obama made it clear in 2015 that sanctions against Iran with non nuclear causes were allowed by the nuclear agreement. Europe should support these sanctions as part of trying to put pressure on the regime and its supporters in Syria. First, we need to re impose sanctions against the Bank of Iran, which supports Bashar. Next, we should aim at all the sponsors of the revolutionary guards and Hezbollah. The top leaders $200 billion conglomerate, foundation, energy export and other key sectors of Irans economy should be sanctioned. Trump had asked Europe to take a hard line against Hezbollah and revolutionary guards. They are all in Syria to help ensure the survival of the Bashar regime. The United States designates these two groups as terrorist organizations, but Europeans do not think so. Europe should act together with the United States against these terrorists without having to decide what the fate of the nuclear agreement will be. The United States and Europe must agree on a solution to the nuclear agreement by May 12th, when Trump has to decide whether to release another 4 - month exemption statement to suspend sanctions against the Central Bank of Iran. If there is no agreement on the solution, the United States can make a face - saving gesture to win European support to Bashars maximum pressure. The president should not revise the Central Bank of Iran as a way to veto the nuclear agreement. He should declare that this action is aimed at what Iran did in Syria. This strategy could either provide more time to negotiate with Europe and Iran to amend the nuclear agreement - but to raise the American influence - or to provide more time to let the Obama administration plan to quit the agreement responsibly. Tehran will not be able to make Iran look like a diplomatic solution but suffer from American unilateralism, and have to justify its abominable policy on Syria. And this will further exacerbate the pressure of the Iran regime. Its people are shouting leave Syria and think about us every day. If Europeans want to save the nuclear agreement and punish Bashars accomplices, they should impose sanctions. The real solution could not prevent the West from stopping Irans unrelated nuclear unrelated activities, even if the object of such a financial war was first allowed to be exempt from sanctions. The solution to the maximum pressure on Tehrans terrorist agents is also incomplete. Reports say that Bashars latest chemical attack has given Trump a chance to use the rare support from both sides of the Atlantic and the two parties to fight Irans activities in Syria. Trump should make full use of this opportunity. (compiling / He Jine) Data picture: Iran Revolutionary Guard soldiers training.
