Feng Shixin put forward four points of view to promote the better development of the game industry. One is to better shoulder the cultural mission, the other is to better fulfill social responsibility, and the third is to accelerate the industrial transformation and upgrading. Good morning, everyone.
Its my pleasure to attend the annual meeting of Chinas game industry, and I have the opportunity to exchange views with my colleagues in the industry. This annual conference is the first game industry conference held under the guidance of the Ministry of Propaganda after the institutional reform. Entrusted by Comrade Liang Yanshun, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Propaganda, and Comrade Guo Yiqiang, Director of the Publishing Bureau of the Ministry of Propaganda, I warmly congratulate the holding of this annual industrial conference, and sincerely welcome the leaders, representatives of enterprises, friends of the media and people from all walks of life who have come to the conference.
As a product of high integration of cultural content and Internet technology, online games have developed rapidly in the past ten years. They have become an important part of the network content industry and an important way of mass cultural entertainment. They play an important role in promoting the development of Internet economy, stimulating cultural innovation and creativity, and meeting the spiritual and cultural needs of the masses. While affirming the achievements, we should also realize clearly that in the development process of online game industry in China, there are also some problems such as inadequate original ability, lack of cultural connotation, deviation of value orientation and inadequate implementation of social responsibility, which restrict the healthy development of the game industry and affect the reputation and image of game practitioners. We must face up to the problems, focus on solving social concerns, constantly correct the direction, and ensure the healthy, orderly and high-quality development of Chinas game industry along the right track.
At the National Conference on propaganda and ideological work, General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed that in order to do a good job in propaganda and ideological work under the new situation, we must take the socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era and the spirit of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Party as the guidance, strengthen the four consciousness and firm the four self-confidence, and consciously undertake the mission of raising the banner, gathering the hearts of the people, educating new people, developing culture and developing As an important ideological and cultural position, the online game industry should earnestly implement the requirements of the central government, go deep into the original and clear the source, focus on innovation, and better serve the overall situation, the people and the economic and social development. The theme of this annual meeting is Responsibility and Development. From the perspective of management, I would like to make some comments on promoting the better development of the game industry for your reference.
First, better shoulder the cultural mission. Game is a content product. Game industry is a producer and disseminator of culture. It must have firm cultural confidence and high cultural consciousness. It should take the creation and production of excellent works as the central link and consciously be a practitioner and disseminator of advanced socialist culture. We should dig deeply into the ideological concepts, humanistic spirit and moral norms contained in the excellent Chinese traditional culture, inherit and innovate according to the requirements of the times and the characteristics of the industry, and promote the creative transformation and innovative development of the traditional culture. We should take the lead in the practice of socialist core values, persist in teaching and enjoying, adhere to the right path, carry forward the right spirit and disseminate the positive energy. Next year will be the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China. We will intensify our guidance and support, and focus on launching a number of original game products with Chinese style, Chinese style and new atmosphere of the new era to present the 70th birthday of New China. While strengthening the production of high-quality products, we will rectify the games that strongly reflect the society, which involve gambling, violence, arbitrary tampering with history, ridiculing the heroes and sages, and spreading the wrong value orientation, and resolutely correct the negative tendencies in creative production. Recently, under the guidance of the Ministry of Propaganda, the ethics committee of online games was set up to organize representatives from all walks of life to comment on game works that are controversial or may lead to moral hazard. Second, better fulfill social responsibility. On the consumer side of online games, teenagers are the main body, and games have an important and direct impact on their physical and mental health. Game enterprises must stand at the height of training new people to take on the task of national rejuvenation, attach importance to their social responsibility, insist on putting social benefits first, protect minors first, correctly handle the relationship between righteousness and benefit, pay attention to social public opinion, listen to criticism, and firmly implement the protection of the healthy growth of young people. In view of the problems of teenagersaddiction to online games and excessive consumption, which are strongly reflected in society, we will introduce institutional measures to strictly regulate and restrict them. It needs to be emphasized that head enterprises and head products have many users and great influence. They should take the lead, exercise strict self-discipline, play a good exemplary and leading role, win social recognition and respect with practical actions, and create a good atmosphere of public opinion and external environment for the development of the industry.
Third, accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading. With the gradual disappearance of factors such as user demographic dividends, the extensive growth mode of the game industry, which blindly pursued quantity and scale and despised quality brands, has become unsustainable. General Secretary Xi Jinping has recently repeatedly stressed the need to promote high-quality development. Faced with the new changes in the market, the game industry should accelerate the structural reform of the supply side, firmly establish a sense of quality, abandon the idea of quick success and instant benefit, actively control the rapid growth of the number of products, focus on improving product quality, carry forward the spirit of craftsmen, carve carefully and strive for excellence, and strive to create a healthy mind, excellent art and excellent production. In the process of examination and approval, we will implement macro-control and precise control to promote the development of the game industry with high quality. In view of the prominent problems exposed in industrial development, such as excessive profit-seeking, infringement and plagiarism, consumption fraud, etc., we will speed up the formulation of special norms, explore the establishment of credit files, strictly regulate market competition order, effectively protect innovation and creation, and ensure a fair and orderly market environment and a clean atmosphere.
Fourth, promote the overseas dissemination of excellent games. In recent years, Chinas online game industry has gradually stepped out of the country, made some achievements in the development of international markets, accumulated some experience, and the international markets interest in Chinas theme, Chinese elements is also growing. At the same time, we should also see that compared with the worlds advanced level, our game enterprises lack innovation ability, product types are relatively single, and the level of story-telling needs to be improved. We should learn from the good practices and experiences of other countries, strengthen product research and development and market promotion, and actively expand the international market space for different audiences and cultural orientations in different regions. We should pay more attention to the cultural connotation of games, and better disseminate Chinese culture, promote Chinese value and reflect Chinese aesthetic interest through games as a carrier. We will strengthen our guidance, support Chinese game companies and original game products to better go out, improve the international influence of Chinese games, and make Chinese games a sound brand for cultural exchanges with foreign countries.
