A farmer in Liquan County, Shaanxi Province, excavated cultural relics of the Tang Dynasty when he built houses and leveled the land. Today (19) morning, a reporter from the Beijing News learned from the Liquan County Cultural Relics Tourism Bureau that the relics belong to stone inscriptions, which were preliminarily identified by professionals of Zhaoling Museum as the base of the tombstone of Tang Zhaoling Tomb accompanied by Emperor Taizong Li Shimin. At present, the relic has been transferred to Zhaoling Museum for temporary collection and storage.

Today (19) morning, a reporter from the Beijing News called the Cultural Relics Tourism Bureau of Liquan County. A worker surnamed Yuan said that on December 16, a 40-year-old male farmer built a house in Yuanpo Village, Yanxia Town. While leveling the land, he found a stele. After receiving a telephone call from the mass cultural relics hotline, the law enforcement officers of the cultural relics tourism inspection brigade rushed to the scene and found one stone carved cultural relic unearthed. After preliminary appraisal by professionals of Zhaoling Museum, it was the base of the tombstone of Tang Zhaoling Tomb accompanied by Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty.
The above-mentioned staff introduced that the stone carving cultural relics have high cultural value and research value for studying the shape of Zhaoling accompanying tomb and the stone carving technology of the early Tang Dynasty. At present, the relic has been transferred to Zhaoling Museum for temporary collection and storage, waiting for the final confirmation of the higher appraisal department, it will be centralized and unified collection with other tomb relics.
Beijing News reporters learned from the bureau that the excavation site of the cultural relic is located near Zhaoling, a national AAA-level tourist attraction.
According to the information posted on the official website of Tang Zhao Mausoleum, Li Shimin Zhaoling Mausoleum of Tang Taizong is located 40 kilometers northwest of Xianyang City. Jiuyong Mountain, Yanxia Township, Liquan County, has a mausoleum area of 20,000 hectares and a perimeter of 60 kilometers. The number of accompanying tombs is the crown of emperorsMausoleums in past dynasties.
