During the flight, Wei Mou was found and stopped smoking in the cabin bathroom by the flight crew. After the flight landed, the police of the airport public security sub-bureau immediately boarded the plane for disposal. After investigation, Weimou confessed his illegal smoking on the plane. The airport public security sub-bureau, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Law of the Peoples Republic of China on Public Security Management and Punishment, made a decision on administrative detention for five days according to law.
According to the relevant provisions of the Civil Aviation Law of the Peoples Republic of China, smoking is banned on all flights in China at present. Passengers who have committed illegal acts endangering air defense safety, such as smoking, using fires and carrying inflammable and explosive materials, may be sentenced to administrative detention for up to 15 days in accordance with the provisions of Articles 23 and 34 of the Law of the Peoples Republic of China on Administrative Penalties for Public Security. Those who constitute crimes shall be investigated for criminal responsibility according to law. It is hoped that the general public will strictly abide by the relevant aviation laws and regulations and travel in a civilized manner.
