According to the news of the Beijing News, according to the Information Office of the Ministry of agriculture and rural affairs December 16th, there was an outbreak of African swine plague in Yanting County of Mianyang city of Sichuan province and chicken crown area in Jixi City, Heilongjiang province.

At 14 oclock in December 16th, the Ministry of agriculture and the countryside received a report from the animal epidemic prevention and control center of China. After being diagnosed by the Chinese Center for animal health and epidemiology (National Center for foreign animal disease research), a pig farmers in Yanting County of Mianyang, Sichuan Province found out the situation of African swine plague. Up to now, 210 pigs have been kept in farms*in Yanting County, 35 of them have been infected and 26 have died; 84 pigs have been kept in farms*in chicken crown area, 24 of them have been infected and 24 have died.

Immediately after the outbreak, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Areas sent a supervisory team to the local area. The local government has launched the emergency response mechanism according to the requirements, and adopted measures such as blockade, culling, harmless treatment and disinfection. At the same time, all live pigs and their products are forbidden to be transferred out of the blockade area and pigs are forbidden to be transported into the blockade area. At present, the above measures have been implemented.
