A new tomb has been found in Egypt for more than 4,400 years.

BEIJING, Dec. 16, Xinhua (CNA) -- Egyptian archaeologists found the tomb of a priest more than 4400 years ago in the Pyramid Group of Saqqara south of Cairo, Egypts government said on Dec. 15.

On December 15, Egypt unveiled the tomb of Wahteye, a newly excavated high priest in Cairo who served during the reign of King Neferirkare (2500 BC-2300 BC).

According to reports, Khaledel-Enany, Egypts Minister of Antiquities, said: Today we want to announce the last discovery of 2018, which is a private grave. The tomb is quite well preserved, with colours and statues inside, Inani said. This tomb belongs to a high-ranking priest and has been dated over 4400 years.
