[Global Network Military Dec. 7] Russian Satellite News Agency reported on Dec. 6 that Vladimir Shamanov, chairman of the Russian National Duma Defense Commission, said that Russia had never conducted an Iskander-M missile test that the United States alleged violated the range provisions of the Guidance Treaty.
On December 6, Shamanov said, The United States questioned Russias Iskander-M missile, claiming that they had secret information to prove that we had tested it. But I am absolutely responsible to tell you that no tests have been carried out and that we have not tested any missiles of this range (more than 500 kilometers).
Shamanov served as commander of the Russian Federations airborne forces from May 2009 to October 2016.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov pointed out that the United States still refused to give a clear reason for its concern about Russias improved Izkander-M 9M729 land-based cruise missile.
